My research activities centre on the control of renal haemodynamics, in particular the role of tubulo-glomerular feedback mechanisms. Following my studies at the University of Melbourne I joined Prof. Klaus Thurau’s Department at the Institute of Physiology, LMU Munich, to work with Dr. Jürgen Schnermann on renal haemodynamics.
I then focused on the mechanisms of renin release, working at the Department of Medicine at Austin Hospital before taking up a Lectureship in Physiology at the University of Melbourne. In 1983 I returned to Munich to take up a senior Lectureship in Physiology at the Institute of Physiology, continuing my research on renal heamodynamics. In recent years concentrated mainly on teaching.
